Editing a draft

The AI writes the first draft; you decide what's published. Change the title or summary in the terminal, then publish or discard.

Every choice is a letter followed by Enter. Upper or lower case both work, and so does the whole word.

MenuChoices
DraftP Publish · E Edit · D Discard
EditT Title · S Summary · B Back
Confirm publishY Yes · N No

Editing the title#

From the draft, type E, then T. The current title is placed on the line, ready to change — move with the arrow keys, edit it, and press Enter.

  [T] Title [S] Summary [B] Back
  > t
Title: Added the AI writer behind kairo review

If you clear the line completely, the previous title is kept. A title must be between 3 and 120 characters.

Editing the summary#

Type S from the edit menu. The summary is edited on a single line, with paragraph breaks shown as :

Paragraph breaks show as ¶. Enter keeps your changes.
Summary: Kairo now drafts a build log from the latest commit. ¶ Nothing is published until you approve it.
  • Type to start a new paragraph, or delete one to join two paragraphs.
  • Line breaks inside a paragraph become spaces.
  • If you clear the line completely, the previous summary is kept.
  • A summary must be between 10 and 5,000 characters.

Back to the draft

Type B to leave the edit menu. The draft is shown again with your changes, and the saved copy is updated — see Draft recovery.

Tags#

The AI suggests a few tags, shown under the summary as #ai #cli. They can’t be edited, and they aren’t published: build logs don’t store tags yet. Only the title and summary become the build log.

Publish#

Type P. You’re asked to confirm, with the title and the project it’s going to:

Publish “Added the AI writer behind kairo review”
  to Lighthouse (ada/lighthouse)?
It will appear on the project's page and in the feed.

  [Y] Yes [N] No >

Y publishes exactly what’s on screen. N returns to the draft. If Kairo refuses the draft — a title that’s too short, say — you stay on the draft with the reason, and can press E to fix it.

Discard#

Type D. Nothing is published, and the saved draft is deleted:

  Discarded. Nothing was published.

Running kairo review again on the same commit asks the AI for a new draft.
